6th Grade - Community Gardens

Students can create community garden models out of recycled and donated recyclable material using pre-planning outlines, problem-solving skills, and complex cutting/hot gluing.

4th Grade - Self-Portrait Paper Dolls

Students can use knowledge of body proportions and complex cutting/designing to create miniature self-portrait paper dolls. 

2nd Grade - Patterned Suns/Moons

Students can illustrate the 4th day of creation using patterns along with warm and cool colors.

4th Grade - Military Paper Dolls

Students can use knowledge of body proportions and the different branches of the military to create correct paper uniforms for paper dolls, achieved through complex cutting and designing.

1st Grade - Ark Origami

Students can illustrate Noah and the Ark using origami, drawing with shapes, and cutting out complex designs.

4th Grade - Patriotic Symbols

Students can create a symbol or word using glue contour lines and red/white/blue patterns.

1st Grade - Mondrian Webs

After studying artist Piet Mondrian, students can identify the primary colors and use them with bumpy and straight lines to create a web illusion.

5th Grade - Op Art USA Flags

Students can create an Op Art illusion of a waving USA flag using value and line styles.

 

Kindergarten - Rainbow Angry Birds

Students can use multiple shapes to draw angry birds then watercolor the colors of the rainbow.
